Famara has a sweeping bay with a long stretch of sandy beach lying under the massive shear cliffs of Famara.

Famara is used by surfers, but please note that this area of the sea can be very dangerous with very strong currents, swimming is not recommended. The red flag is constantly flying.

The village nearby has some cafe bars and restaurants where one can relax with a quiet drink or sample the locally caught fresh fish.
