Fire Mountain
fire mountains (Montanas del Fuego) part of the national park was the area most devastated by volcanic eruptions
from 1st September 1730 until 16th April 1736 leaving an immense sea of lava.
The scenery is quite different than anywhere else on Lanzarote and there are camels
to take passengers for a ride around the edge of the volcano.
There is a coach ride taking passengers around the volcano showing what happened
during the six years of eruptions. The coach has a multilingual commentary. Passengers can take photographs at several locations where the bus stops.
The cost is included in the entrance fee and the trip lasts for approximately forty five minutes.
There is the El Diablo ( The Devil ) restaurant where there are sometimes meals served from a grill fitted across the the volcanic chasm which is fuelled by hot gases from the volcano.
The park is open 9.00 - 16.45 seven days a week.
